Inspired by Psalm 19:1 (KJV): “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”*
Have you ever looked up at the sky and just felt something bigger than yourself? The Bible says the heavens, that big, wide sky,is actually showing us how amazing God is. The clouds, stars, sun, and moon are all part of His masterpiece. It’s like the sky is putting God’s greatness on display for everyone to see.
Let’s break this verse down:
-Heavens means the skies or even heaven itself, where God and the angels live.
-Declare means to clearly show or tell something.
-Glory is God’s beauty, power, and presence.
-Firmament is the sky or space between the clouds and earth.
-Sheweth means to show or prove something.
-Handiwork is something made with care and skill God’s personal creation.
When we look at nature, it’s easy to see that God is at work. On sunny days, when everything feels good, it’s like life is bright and full of hope. But then clouds come, and storms roll in. Sometimes life feels the same way, good one moment, then tough the next.
But just like storms don’t last forever, neither do the hard times in life. The sun always comes back out. That’s how God shows us that we’ll get through hard seasons. Even at night, when things feel dark or quiet, the stars remind us that there’s still beauty, even in the dark. The longer you look, the more stars you see , and the more you look for the good, the more you’ll find it.
God uses nature to remind us that every season, good or bad has a purpose. And we get to choose what we focus on. If we keep our minds on God’s love, peace, and truth, we’ll feel stronger and more hopeful, even when things aren’t perfect.
Life changes. Plans get ruined. We go through tough times. But just like rain helps plants grow, tough moments can help us grow too. And after every rain, the sun returns just like hope always comes back.
No matter what season you’re in, God is always present. His love and peace don’t change, even when everything else does. That’s something to be thankful for every single day.
